Great News! We’ve added to our list of services! We now offer four different levels of assessments!
I am so grateful to have such an amazing group of clinicians here at San Diego Kids First. Your child will be in great hands with our spectacular professionals! All assessments will be conducted by either Dr. Elisabeth Thurlow, Dr. Jesse Olague, Dr. Jaque Gamboa or, Dr. Chanel Kealoha.
The Four Levels of Assessments:
- One hour screen
- Autism Focused Evaluation
- Full Developmental/ Psychological Evaluation
- Full Psychoeducational Evaluation
A 50 minute screening allows us to briefly screen your child for developmental, social, emotional, or behavioral concerns. By the end of the hour, your clinician will provide specific recommendations for your child based on their observations and your child’s history. As each screening is specifically tailored to your child, you will receive more information than a pediatrician or doctor can provide to a parent within a single visit.
The Autism Focused Evaluation, Developmental/ Psychological Evaluation and Psychoeducational Evaluation allow our clinicians to assess your child or teen using a standardized diagnostic measure and questionnaires for you and, if requested, your child/teen’s teacher.
Some or all of the following areas will be assessed:
- Social and interpersonal functioning
- Communication skills
- Adaptive functioning
- Behavior
- Play-skills
- Attention/impulsivity
- Mood/anxiety
What to expect from the process:
- An initial parent intake appointment
- Test administration
- Scoring and interpretation of all tests
- Parent feedback session
- Comprehensive write-up of a report with diagnoses (where applicable)
- Specific, tailored recommendations
