We are very excited to announce that we are offering TWO NEW ROUNDS of social skills group training between now and the end of the calendar year!
We are thrilled to be able to bring back this group for your little ones since our last sessions over Summer!
The first group will be for 6-8 year olds and the second group will be for 9-12 year olds. Please note, the following details pertain to the 6-8 year old group. We will follow up with more information for the 9-12 year old group shortly!
This is a 6 week program that meets on Fridays from 5:00-6:30pm. The first session will begin on September 9th and end on October 14th! Attendance for all 6 sessions is required with the exception of medical absences as this is a cohesive curriculum that strongly relies on the participation of all group members.
In addition to the 6 intervention sessions, we are holding optional complimentary 60 minute telehealth parent nights! These are optional individual parent sessions that will take place every other Wednesday. These parent sessions can be used to go over what your child is learning in the program, their progress, strengths/ weaknesses and techniques to use at home.
The social skills group will be led by Charlie Aguilar, our behavior specialist/ interventionist. Charlie has been practicing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), the Zones of Regulation, Pivotal Response Therapy, and other behavioral and social skill interventions for 7 years! He has extensive experience in providing 1:1 in-home behavioral support/ modification for Carlsbad Unified School District. Charlie is proficient in current evidence-based practices and scientifically validated methodologies to help children of ALL ages (2 through teens) with behavioral or social skill challenges.
He specializes in successful behavioral modification and utilizing these empirically validated principles to achieve lasting, meaningful, and positive change in children’s and family’s lives.
This service gives your children the tools they need in order to be prepared for a lifetime of healthy social interaction with others. Charlie will help your child practice for social situations with siblings, classmates, play dates, playground settings, birthday parties and more!
In addition to the social skills group and parent nights, you will receive free access to Dr. Deborah Pontillos’ Bright Stars Parenting Program (Usually sold for $190). The online parent training program has been created specifically for parents and caregivers of highly intelligent children on the mild end of the autism spectrum!
Social skills are essential for future success in all aspects of life! If you prefer one on one in vivo social skills training for your child, Charlie is also able to come directly to your home!
