Meet Sawyer Franklin, LCSW!

As we continue to expand, we listen to our community to curate services that fit your needs. After identifying patterns that have emerged from many recent unique stories, we are honored to announce our new youth and adolescent expert, Sawyer Franklin, LCSW. 

Sawyer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in supporting pre-adolescents, adolescents, and young adults to cope with ADHD, anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, trauma, and life transitions. Additionally, Sawyer is experienced in supporting the mental health of LGBTQIA+ youth

Sawyer is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), First Approaches Skills Training-Behavior (FAST-B), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Sawyer prioritizes collaboration with youth and their families using a strength-based approach in his work.

He has facilitated support groups, provided individual and family therapy, and led trainings on best practices in serving this population, including for the UCSD School of Medicine.

Sawyer has extensive training and professional experience working with youth and families. Prior to joining San Diego Kids First, Sawyer was a therapist within the Transforming Mental Health program at Rady Children’s Hospital and worked closely with the doctors at Valle Verde Pediatrics in Poway. Other previous roles include providing crisis intervention services at The Bridge for Youth and conducting in-home therapy at Washburn Center for Children, both located in Minneapolis, MN. He also facilitated various therapeutic and life skills groups for caregivers and youth in Minneapolis and St. Louis, MO.
