WE ARE OFFERING:
I. EDUCATION, BEHAVIOR AND PARENT SUPPORT GROUP
II. ANXIETY GROUP FOR ELEMENTARY AGED CHILDREN
The Education, Behavior, and Parent Support Group is a 4 week program for parents of 3-12 year olds that meets via zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00-1:30pm. The first session will begin on November 29th and end on December 22nd!
This 90 minute virtual group consists of 60 minutes focused on didactic work while the remaining 30 minutes are an optional Q+A session. You can even send us your questions ahead of time to make sure you get the answers you need!
Topics covered during throughout the program:
– Introduction & Parenting 101: Values, Parenting Styles, Self Care
-Understanding Your Child: Brain Development and Behavior Decoding
–Connecting With Your Child: Attachment and Play
–Attuning To Your Child: Temperament
-Supporting Your Child: Executive Functioning
-Seeing Your Child: Emotions
-Calming Your Child: Regulation
-Teacher Your Child: Discipline
The Anxiety Group is a 4 week program for elementary aged children that meets in- person on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00pm. The first session will begin on November 29th and end on December 20th! This 90 minute group utilize a Cognitive Behavioral and Mindfulness approach.
Topics covered during throughout the program: – Defining Anxiety -The Science Behind Anxiety-Recognizing Anxious Feelings and Triggers-Developing Coping Strategies For Anxiety
These groups will be led by Cassidy O’Brien, LCSW, our child and adolescent specialist. Cassidy’s professional experience includes helping children cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, and difficult life transitions. She also specializes in teaching self-regulation and social skills, enhancing cognitive and behavioral flexibility and working with parents on behavioral management strategies. Cassidy has experience working with children and extensive training in early childhood mental health and working with children with ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
