Note for New Patients:
DR. PONTILLO – Please note that at this time Dr. Pontillo is only seeing families requesting periodic consultations, 1-hour developmental screens, evaluations. She is not accepting ongoing therapy patients at this time.
REGULAR/ONGOING THERAPY – If you are looking to begin REGULAR, ONGOING appointments hours for your child/teen or for yourself, Kimberly Brownell, LCSW/LICSW(child/teen therapist ages 10 and up; adult/family/couples therapist; group therapy facilitator) Anna Williams, MFT, (child/family/adult therapist, all ages) and Dr.Rangel, PhD are the ONLY clinicians currently accepting new patients.
GROUP THERAPY – We are now offering weekly Teen Group Therapy and Women’s Group Therapy sessions run by Kim Brownell, LCSW, LICSW. If you have not met with Kim before, a one-hour clinic appointment with Kim will need to be scheduled prior to attending the group. If you have met with Kim before and are interested in signing up for one of the therapy groups, please contact Kim directly at kbrownell@sdkidsfirst.com
EVALUATIONS – please schedule an initial 1 HOUR parent-only intake appointment with Dr.Pontillo or Dr.Gamboa. Please note at this time Dr Pontillo’s schedule is booking further out due to high demand. More time-sensitive evaluation intakes should be scheduled with Dr. Gamboa. Dr. Pontillo collaborates on all evaluations conducted by other staff clinicians at SDKF.
2 HR SLOTS with Dr.Gamboa and Dr. Rangel are ONLY for patients who have already completed an initial intake.
IN-HOME APPOINTMENTS – Kim Brownell and Anna Williams provide in-home appointments and will travel within a 15 mile radius from the San Diego Kids First office located in Carmel Valley for home visits. If you live farther than 15 miles from our office, we ask that you please schedule an office or a Telehealth appointment instead.
FEES AND INSURANCE QUESTIONS – San Diego Kids First contracts with Griebel Billing Services in order to provide complimentary insurance billing services to all our families with PPO plans. If you would like to take advantage of this free service, please call Linda at 619-224-6343, mention San Diego Kids First, and provide her your insurance information. Griebel Billing services obtains reimbursement for the vast majority of our clients with out-of-network benefits. Click here for all insurance and fee information.
